STAY WITH US
Barton Court forms the heart of a country estate that goes back hundreds of years. It sits on the edge of the village of Colwall between Ledbury in Herefordshire and Malvern in Worcestershire with spectacular views of both counties. Surrounded by history and beauty, with the Malvern Hills as its backdrop, this lovely country house rental is private but not isolated.
Said by some to be ‘Herefordshire’s hidden gem’, Barton Court is just up the road from the [much younger] well-known Eastnor Castle and within easy striking distance of all the attractions of the Three Counties - Gloucestershire being the third.
The property is made up of the principal dwelling (the main house), The Clock Tower and a cluster of ancillary buildings can be rented for short breaks, weddings and events, altogether, in various combinations or separately. We specialise in weekend rentals so rest assured your every need will be catered for. Please do read about our fabulous accommodation below and take a look at our gallery for some more images of Barton Court and its grounds.
The main house is available to rent on a short let basis for family reunions, friends gatherings, milestone birthdays, hen parties, stag dos and corporate events. In fact, for any occasion where people get together. For groups of up to 32, we can open up the annexe for you, as well.
Self catering for such large numbers can be a strain for some members of the party so we can arrange for a chef to cook for you, prepared meals to be left in the fridge or just organise shopping from local suppliers. There is a lovely cafe on the site where you can enjoy great coffee, snacks and lunches and give yourself a break from cooking.
If you have small children in your party, please bear in mind that there are 2 ponds and a bridge in the garden: great places to explore but where they do need to be supervised.
Enjoy the experience of country house living in one of our stylish principle bedrooms, each with an individual ensuite bathroom.

romantic SELF CONTAINED ACCOMMODATION FOR 2
NOW WITH ITS VERY OWN HOT TUB!
Once the head gardener's cottage, this bijou little house has been carefully restored to make it as comfortable as it is charming.
It has everything that a couple [with their dog] could need: a cosy sitting room with a log burner; a comfortable bedroom with lovely views; a well equipped kitchen and a good shower room. There is even a second loo, an enclosed dog run and a little patio area.
We have created a pretty little enclosed garden in two sections: one with a patio area you can sit and have a coffee and another with its own hot tub where you can relax and gaze at the Malvern Hills and the stars.
THE COACH HOUSE
self contained accommodation for 6
The annexe to the main house and once the home of the previous owner, this cosy 3 bedroomed property sleeps 6 people in comfort.
It has a ground floor bedroom with a shower room adjacent and 2 further bedrooms on the first floor serviced by a smart black and white tiled bathroom.
The kitchen has everything necessary to cook for a family plus a full sized dishwasher. You can eat inside at the dining table or outside on the patio if the weather is kind. The courtyard is enclosed but leads to the - much larger - Walled Garden that has glorious views of the Malvern Hills.
There is on site parking for 2 cars and all utilities are included in the price.
THE HAYLOFT
self contained accommodation for 2
N.B. STEEP STEPS UP
They say history is written in the fabric of a building. It is very true in the case of The Hayloft where the names and wages of some of the workers on the estate were discovered written on the wall in pencil. We have exposed them and preserved them for visitors to enjoy.
The stone steps up are steep and old. The accommodation is comfortable and rustic as befitting the office of the erstwhile estate manager. However, simple as this little apartment may be, it still has all the conveniences of modern life and, in our opinion, the best views on the entire property.
This flat is NOT suitable for anyone with mobility issues who cannot manage steep stairs.
