We are all keen foodies here at Barton Court. Eating is one of the most fundamental pleasures of life, enjoyed by everyone. It is a critical part of hospitality and so is at the heart of the welcome that we extend to our visitors.

THE LOOSE BOX CAFE

Created from an atmospheric Georgian stable where thoroughbreds Tarquin and Rocket used to live - their names are still above the stalls - The Loose Box is at the centre, of the estate.

We serve decent coffee, a proper pot of tea, delicious cakes and a changing selection of light lunches. The accent is on quality and flavour in all things.

In winter, we open at 9.30am and close at 3.00pm in the afternoon from Tuesday to Saturday inclusive. These hours will change once the days are warmer and lighter. We will be open on weekend evenings for a variety of pop up events so please do keep an eye on our website for more info.

On fine days, The Dovecote Lawn and the Terrace allow you to sit outside and take in the inspirational backdrop of the Malvern Hills

We have a bit of a reputation for a varied range of delicious cakes. Our over-riding criterion for including anything on our menu is flavour: if it doesn’t taste good, there’s no point in stocking it. We have four different cake suppliers, all small artisan bakers who specialise in particular types of cake. So, Gill is a traditional cake maker, par exellence, whose carrot cake is the stuff of legends while Lisa has made gluten free her area of expertise. We had been delighted to come across two other exemplary cake makers in recent months. Monica’s lemon and polenta cake has won a taste award. Hannah’s artistic bakes are eye catching, innovative and very, very tasty. Between their combined talents, we cater for a range of flavour profiles and dietary requirements.
